From The Editor
We are proud to bring you the Inaugural issue of itravelindonesia. The young team felt that it was time to go beyond just booking your discounted hotels and Indonesian domestic flights. So here we are.
In this Animal issue, we take a close look at my favourite destination in Indonesia, the Seminyak district in Bali. For our funky jilbabbers, Islamic fashion makes waves in London’s fashion week.
For the hordes of Indonesians flying to Singapore to shop and visit the doctors, we say there is more to Singapore than just Takashimaya and Mount Elizabeth.
Indonesians are the happiest people in the world. We look at a recent Norwegian survey that tells us that Indonesians smile more than anyone else on the Planet.
It is a modest start for us. In the next year, we will bring together articles that we hope will entertain, inform and bring you back. We hope that you will be a frequent visitor to itravelindonesia. As always, send us your feedback, kudos, and brickbats to cs@itravelindonesia.com.
Happy holidays.

Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge Labuan Bajo Flores
The Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge Hotel was for a long time, the best hotel in Komodo and Labuan Bajo. Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge still offers good rooms, in a not too convenient location. Best of all, the Hotel is truly ecofriendly with recycled water, solar and wind power generating its energy needs.
The Bajo Eco Lodge has 6 rooms with fans, ACs and hot water. The rooms are simply furnished but comfortable. They look out onto the swimming pool and the sea. A small patio outside allows you to enjoy the sea breezes. The Western toilets are basic and spotless. There was a small swimming pool on the grounds but it was hardly used the time we were there.
The dining area is on the second floor, providing better sea views. There is only a limited menu but the food was well prepared and the staff eager to please. The bar is a self-service, honor system and there was a small library with used books. Comfortable and cozy.
The Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge hotel arranges boat tours, flight tickets and transport through Flores. The prices were competitive. There is little need to go to Labuan Bajo (about 10 mins away by car), unless you are tired of the Hotel food.
You will love or hate the Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge, depending on where you are coming from. If your stay here is at the end of your Flores adventure, you will be whooping for joy (Flores Hotels are simple and basic). If you have just come from Bali, you will be wondering why you are paying these prices for these rooms. Nevertheless, eco warriors will enjoy the Lodge.
